Kenjiro Kitade

Kenjiro Kitade was born in Tokyo and moved to the U.S. when he was 13, receiving his Bachelor's and Master's degrees at New York University where he studied ceramics. His whimsical sculpture teems with contradiction; presenting a bleak picture of humanity with sarcasm and humor. “As a Japanese submerged in a foreign culture-, transfixed in a world between worlds- I see that both worlds can peacefully exist, only with the ability to yield."
